An Giang Plant Protection Joint Stock Company AGPPS (Vietnam) is the leading service supplier in the Vietnamese agricultural sector. We have been contributing our considerable efforts to the stable development of Vietnam agriculture for almost 20 years .
In 2010, our company turnover reached USD 204 million, with a growth of 23%.
AGPPS involves in the complete agricultural products chain: from certified seeds, pesticide, fertilizer, agricultural services, processing to agricultural products trading.
AGPPS has a Seed Research and Production Center functioning in research and breeding new varieties. Especially, we are authorized by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) to operate the first seed verification and experiment department in Mekong Delta. On production side, we have 03 seed factories and 03 seed farms with the total area of 800 hecta, which have capacity of 17,000 to 20,000 metric ton of varieties for cultivation annually.
AGPPS has a field force of over 520 agricultural engineers in Farmer Network program, also known as Farmers Friends (FFs). FFs go to field with farmers every day, help farmers with crop solutions with on field training and application. As plan, we will have 1,000 FFs in 2015.
Syngenta, a leading global agribusiness, is our strategic partner in Vietnam. Together, we bring to Vietnam farmers advanced solutions with high tech, eco friendly and safe pesticide and seeds.
Adopting the pioneering model for Vietnam food industry, we establish material areas in Mekong Delta provinces, such as An Giang, Long An, Dong Thap, Kien Giang. In material areas, we invest for farmers certified rice seeds, pesticide, fertilizer and crop solutions to help them have successful crops in their paddy fields. In addition, our FFs guide farmers crop solutions and monitor all their practicesin accordance with Effective, Sustainable principle; each FF takes care of an area of 50 ha. At the end of the rice season, all farmers harvests are carried to our mills, which are equipped with modern European and Vietnamese equipments, for drying and processing. Consequently, we can control the whole cultivation process from the beginning. Thus, our products offer high and stable quality, more specifically, our fragrant rice has high purebred level.
