The SGS banner has since 1978 played a key role in the consumer sector. Dr. S. G. Sekar and his brother mr. S. C. Sekar had a vision and plan for the consumer market when they set shop. Since then, their brainchild, the 'A-one cleaning powder' has been a household name. The success of the 'a-one cleaning powder' was emulated in other products of the company.
