Outside / In Cosmetics is located in Chilliwack, BC and was founded September of 2007.
After having her first child Consuelo Clarke, President Outside / In Cosmetics, found herself with an innate desire to do better for her family and the environment. Like other new mothers she started scrutinizing the products and foods she purchased to ensure her child was getting the best possible start in life.
This drove her to also revisit some of her own daily activities including her makeup purchases. The thought of applying makeup that contained synthetic ingredients and could by proxy harm her child led her to try Mineral based makeup.
While enjoying her second maternity leave, Consuelo found that the mineral products she was using were becoming too expensive for her family budget and stated looking for alternatives. At that point she reviewed the products in the market and found that many of them, although claimed to be natural, in fact contained many ingredients linked to health problems including, cancer.
At this point her journey became personal as she had recently lost several friends and family, including her Grandmother and Godfather to cancer.
With the support of her family and armed with the knowledge she embarked on her mission to start a makeup company that would provide healthy, non synthetic, preservative free cosmetics and skin care.
Our Products:
Outside / In strives to offer only organic ingredients when possible in our lip gloss, lip balm and skin care. Our mineral makeup is made from inorganic ingredients.
We like to think of our products as food for your face and like food, our products do have a shelf life. Our natural preservation system is no match for chemical preservatives. You can help support the life span of our products by always using clean fingers and storing products away from direct sunlight. If you are in a very hot climate, you might like to store your skin care products in the fridge.
Seasonal variations create color variations in the ingredients we use and this creates color variations in our products, a good indicator for you of the naturalness of our products! Our mineral makeup is inorganic and its properties will not fluctuate with seasons. We do not add any fillers or preservatives or out products so, it is sold in smaller quantities to promote usage and refills can be purchased at a discounted rate to save on packaging waste.
