Eastern Merchants PLC

Established in 1945, we are a Public Limited Company (PLC), with an annual turnover in excess of four billlion rupees. The trading activities of the Company include the export of Sri Lanka's traditional commodities such as tea, natural rubber, desiccated coconut, coconut fibre as well as non-traditional goods such as spices. It's Associate Company Messrs. Eamel Exports Ltd., founded in 1975, handles the export of local spices, handicrafts and other non-traditional goods, while Messrs. Asia Brush (Pvt.) Ltd., another Associate Company, is involved in manufacturing brooms and brushes for export.

The Company now operates from its own modern premises in the best commercial area of the city and has its warehouse complex in an industrial estate in the suburbs of the city. The Company also operates another office and a warehouse complex in the heart of the Cinnamon plantations located in southern parts of the island, the facilities of which are solely devoted to the purchasing, processing and storing of Cinnamon.
