Bijoux literally means 'bead' and refers to the exotic style of Ola-Brazil jewelry. Bijoux originated in France and then migrated to Brazil where it blossomed into a trendy cultural phenomenon. In the hands of local craftsmen, Bijoux developed into a form of self expression where the utilization of raw materials found locally were intermingled with hand woven leathers and knitted cottons to create stunning objects of beauty. These raw materials include unique stones, polished metals, wooden beads, colorful glass, flower seeds and wild buriti grasses from the Amazon River Basin.
